The trade body IMRG will provide insurance against cyber-attacks by WikiLeaks which frightens Britain’s £57.8 billion online shopping industry.
WikiLeaks, founded by Julian Assange, is a non profit organization which leaked out secret documents through its website. This organization runs on donations and a group called “hacktivists claims that MasterCard, Visa, Amazon and Paypal have bound under US pressure and blocked the donations which are making life difficult for wikileaks.
The hackers did not do any permanent damage but with the help of distributed denial of service, hinder the services of these sites. Online retailers were previously threatened by criminals who wanted to make money but the hackers have other concerns, according to Peter Wood, member of the online security organization ISACA and chief executive of security consultants First Base Technologies.
